Costs
The cost of a funeral depends on the type of service you choose to have, from something simple and straightforward to a more elaborate detailed event.
We are able to use our experience to help you arrange a funeral service that provides a suitable farewell for your loved one at a cost that fits your particular requirements.
General Funeral Costs
The cost of a funeral is divided into two parts, firstly there is the funeral directors or undertakers charges which can range typically between £1250 and £1750 fully inclusive and sometimes more depending on the type of service requested and the coffin choice as well as the number of limousines required for family and friends.
Prices also vary depending on the firm of funeral directors you choose to carry out the arrangements for you.
Secondly there are disbursements or items paid out on your behalf including cremation charges at your chosen crematorium or grave fees at the cemetery as well as doctors fees for cremation, clergy or celebrants fees, newspaper notices, flowers and catering etc.
For a cremation at the West Road crematorium these fees amount to approximately £760 inclusive but can be reduced depending on whether the coroner is involved in which situation doctors fees are not chargeable and also if you don't require a press notice then this will also reduce the disbursement charges.
